Located at the charming Shobdon airfield, Meg's T/A The Hotspur Cafe is a culinary gem where aviation and gastronomy meet. Patrons rave about the delightful offerings, with Nigel Bradford aptly stating, "Meg's is legendary," capturing the essence of airfield dining that surpasses typical airline meals. This cafe welcomes visitors from all over the country, including pilots who seek a heartwarming meal after their flights.
Customers like S H (Coffee Lover) laud the remarkable breakfast and coffee, which can be enjoyed under both indoor and outdoor settings. The covered patio offers a unique spot to observe planes, irrespective of the weather. As Sian Hillier points out, the cafe is not just about the food; it offers a delightful ambience for families and bike lovers, with ample space for kids to play.
While some reviews mention slow service due to limited staff, the fresh, locally sourced dishes, including traditional breakfasts, are consistently praised. With its historic setting in a 1940s airfield building, Meg's is not just a cafe; it's an experience enriched by history and community spirit. A visit here promises both delicious food and a unique atmosphere that you won't forget.

Meg's is legendary. This is airfield food, not airline food. Little aeroplanes fly in from all over the country so their pilots can eat here, but the food tastes just as good if you drive here?

Flew into Shobdon and had a cracking breakfast and coffee! Indoor and outdoor seating. Covered area outside too so you can watch the planes come in, rain or shine. Traditional hangar. Perfect!!

Nice food but service can be slow with only 1 person on the till. Great to sit outside and watch the places

Found this gem of a place from the Bike & Brew passport. Absolutely loved it. To sit in the sunshine with a coffee and cake watching the little planes taking off and landing was pretty unique. Loads of parking for both bikes and cars. Great field to take kids for a runaround and picnic.

Great fresh cooked food in an original 1940’s airfield building with outdoor seating for the summer great for watching the planes take off and land. A piece of history with it being a ww2 airfield. Very nice

A great little cafe tucked away behind the village on the edge of an active airfield. Being a biker, I had initially headed over to Dom's bike stop but the service was too slow, so carried on to the Hotspur cafe. Its a lovely spot to sit in the sun watching the planes come and go. Prices are very reasonable and the lovely lady behind the counter even have me a discount due to the slightly smaller cake I ordered.

Regular visitor to this place. Lots of bikers visit. Their breakfasts are great and if you don’t want a full English there are other options like the chorizo hash

Wonderful lunch stop when out on a motorbike ride. Food was really tasty and the staff fantastic. Warm and friendly cafe with the added benefit of an active airfield for some plane spotting. I had the small breakfast with an Americano coffee.
